The Institute performs full-time, extramural and accelerated training of students in 19 bachelors, 14 masters, 14 Ph.D., and postdoctoral programs, carries out advanced training and retraining of specialists in architecture and building.
A number of Institute facilities ensure the efficiency of the educational process: specialized design rooms and workshops, laboratory and computer rooms, the rooms of computer design and architectural-building physics, lecture multi-media rooms.
R&D activity of Institute staff and students is supported by diverse laboratories and centers such as the center for research of habitability of urbanized territories and cities; the center of certification, research and quality assessment of building products; the laboratory of investigation of life-support systems; the laboratory of development of smart materials, constructions and houses.
More than 10 years the center “Energy efficiency” carries out its activity at the Institute; by the decision of Russian Ministry of Education and Science, it has become the leading one in Siberian Federal District to deal with issues of energy saving.
Institute students and staff take part in international and All-Russian exhibitions, master classes, competitions and win first places.
For more than 15 years the regional council on defence of candidate’s and doctor’s degree dissertations functions attached to the Institute where scientists from numerous Siberian cities defend their theses.
Every year the Institute hosts International Baikal Winter University of Urban Planning Design where young professionals from Russia, Germany, Italy, China, Mongolia, France, Switzerland, and other countries take part.
The Institute furthermore organizes the International virtual forum “Artistic and design culture in the era of new information technologies”.
